Kongressbericht/Conference Volume Valencia, Spanien 2024

This conference volume, Alta Musica 38, publishes 24 academic papers presented at the 27th Conference of the International Society for Research and Promotion of Wind Music (IGEB) in Valencia (July 2024). Marking IGEB's 50th anniversary (1974-2024), the contributions broadly explore key areas in wind music studies. These themes include historical development, academic recognition, performance practices, compositional innovations, societal impact, technology integration and musician well-being. The conference brought together scholars from fourteen countries, reflecting the international nature of wind music research. Damien Sagrillo is a musicologist, professor at the University of Luxembourg, specialising in wind music, music education and music history of Luxembourg.
