Die über 3 000 bibliografische Einheiten umfassende ¿Bibliotheca Herbergerianä, zurückgehend auf Valerius Herberger d. Ä. (1562-1627) und seine Nachkommen, zählt zu den größeren, weitgehend erhaltenen Büchersammlungen des 17. Jahrhunderts - genutzt u. a. von Andreas Gryphius als Fraustädter Schüler. Der erste Teilband bietet die Edition des 1646 bis 1656 angefertigten handschriftlichen Katalogs der Fraustädter Bibliothek. Der zweite Teilband bietet Titelaufnahmen der betreffenden Drucke nach modernen bibliografischen Standards mit Standortnachweisen. Hierbei werden sämtliche im Katalog genannten und erhaltenen Drucke aus der Kirchenbibliothek sowie dem Besitz der Herbergers berücksichtigt - auch jene Herbergeriana, die im Katalog nicht verzeichnet sind. Beide Teile sind durch ein überschaubares Nummerierungssystem miteinander verklammert. Ein ausführliches Nachwort führt in die Geschichte der Sammlung ein.
