This book examines how wine tourism is designed, interpreted and strategically justified by wineries through a comparative analysis of two emblematic wine regions: Rioja (Spain) and Mendoza (Argentina). Commonly associated with the Old World and New World traditions, respectively, these regions offer contrasting yet comparable settings for analyzing how wine tourism strategies are shaped by territory, history and institutional context. Adopting a producer-centered perspective, the book draws on resource and capabilities theory, network-based approaches and institutional theory to explain how wineries mobilize territorial resources, coordinate with regional actors and respond to regulatory and legitimacy pressures. Wine tourism is analyzed not as a transferable managerial model but as a territorially embedded strategic practice that evolves through path-dependent processes.
The analysis pays particular attention to contextual factors that condition strategic choice, including cultural heritage, environmental conditions, governance structures and regional economic trajectories. Through its comparative design, the book shows how similar strategic intentions lead to different wine tourism configurations when filtered through distinct territorial logics. Moreover, it contributes to a deeper understanding of wine tourism as a strategic activity grounded in place, producer interpretation and long-term regional development.

This open access book offers a unique perspective on the return of cultural objects by considering the aftermath of the handover processes. While calls for the repatriation of heritage have been made since the start of the decolonisation process, it is only in recent years that the debate on returning cultural objects has gained widespread prominence. This has been followed by ongoing efforts from several countries to change the legislation, adopt principles, and invest in provenance research to turn repatriation into a more proactive mechanism. The book tells the story of cultural objects that were housed in European institutions and returned to countries in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. In addition to in-depth analysis of relevant laws and policies, each of the case studies integrates interviews with those who were directly involved in those return processes, as well as those who were impacted by them, including museum staff, government representatives and community members. The book presents previously unheard insights into past return processes, the manifold modalities that such processes have followed, and, at times, unexpected outcomes. This book&nbsp;provides an in-depth exploration of the phenomenon of heritage crime in England and Wales. Drawing on a pastiche of empirical data comprised of qualitative testimony from police officers, victims of heritage crime, and heritage practitioners, it interrogates the following areas: i) the nature of heritage crime, ii) how is it conceptualized and operationalized within policing, iii) the victim of heritage crime and iv) opportunities for improved practice in this area. Since the 2003 UNESCO Convention, cultural heritage policies have promoted diversity and grassroots participation. Deborah Sielert explores how these global discourses do and do not unfold in three small towns in northern Germany, where Portuguese, Dutch, and East Frisian minorities have shaped the cultural sphere since the 1990s - despite the absence of official heritage frameworks. Through a comparative multi-sited study, the research traces how local actors engage with symbolic boundary-making in ethnicised festivals and associations, and how global heritage regimes inform these endeavours. This study offers a fresh sociological lens on the interplay between local sensemaking and the worldmaking power of heritage discourse.

External stakeholders in projects across sectors, such as infrastructure, policy, healthcare, and communication, are the set of users, special interest groups, and actors that are not a party to the contract but are socially or economically affected by the outcomes of the project. Since these projects create environmental, social, and political disruptions in their environment, these external stakeholders bear a majority of the project's negative impacts. These stakeholders express their concerns about the initial phase of the project, such as compulsory acquisition of houses and parks, the disruption caused by the implementation phase of the project, and its ongoing impacts in the operation phase on lifestyle, health, and wellbeing through protests and sometimes politically motivated public resistance.Managing such stakeholders is important as the success of any project depends on how its deliverables are viewed by the communities on whom its operations impinge. Project management literature notes how visioning, physical outreach, joint co-creation, visualization, interactive workshops, and social media engagement can improve collaboration with external stakeholders in project settings. This book focuses on sovereign states of the Global South, offering a systematic analysis of how these countries design voting rules within regional international organizations. It introduces the concept of travel restriction measures and examines them in conjunction with the national and social interests of Global South countries, with the aim of identifying pathways toward mutually beneficial cooperation within a shared community of interests.The book also places strong emphasis on collaborative approaches to cultural heritage protection among Global South countries, interpreting the legal and institutional mechanisms that support cross-border cooperation in this field. In light of the persistent tension between environmental protection and economic growth faced by many Global South countries, the book further foregrounds sustainable development as a central theme.
