'Consumer Arbitration and Collective Redress. On the Relationship between Consumer Arbitration and Collective Redress in German and U.S. Law': The thesis examines the relationship between consumer arbitration and collective redress mechanisms in U.S. (class actions) and German law (in particular, the newly enacted action for relief under the German Consumer Rights Enforcement Act (Verbraucherrechtedurchsetzungsgesetz)). It also examines the legal framework for consumer arbitration in German and EU law and develops approaches for how the system recognized by both legal systems can be developed further.
