The Role of Female Entrepreneurship in Reducing Poverty

Le Bangladesh est vulnérable aux aléas liés au changement climatique, principalement en raison de sa situation géographique. Cet article vise à évaluer ces aléas dans la zone d'étude, à explorer les risques et impacts associés sur les populations pauvres de cette région, et à identifier les stratégies d'adaptation mises en œuvre et leurs réponses face aux impacts du changement climatique. L'étude a été menée dans l'upazila de Shyamnagar, district de Satkhira, au Bangladesh, en 2014. Les résultats ont démontré que des catastrophes majeures telles que les cyclones et les inondations ont affecté les populations côtières de multiples façons : raréfaction des ressources, dommages aux habitations, aux cultures et à la pêche, pertes humaines et animales, modifications de l'occupation des sols, des ressources en eau potable et des moyens de subsistance. L'étude a également montré que les populations côtières tentent de résoudre leurs problèmes en adoptant et en explorant des activités alternatives, en produisant des espèces adaptées, en migrant vers les villes et en favorisant la participation des femmes au travail. Ce travail n'en constitue qu'une modeste contribution. Je recommande des initiatives locales, nationales et internationales pour identifier des solutions alternatives et mener des recherches sur leur durabilité.
