The Cambridge Handbook of Global Crisis and Global Legal Ordering

This handbook is an Asian initiative for the global academic community. Its contributors represent a broad range of jurisdictions across Europe, the Americas, South, Central, and East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. They share a deep concern about the future of global society and the rule-based international order. A key focus of the book is the urgent challenge of Russia's aggression in Ukraine and Israel's invasion of Gaza, and the consequent need for reconstructing the global legal order. The volume brings together diverse perspectives, ranging from global constitutionalism, to the Third World approach to international law, to critical legal thinking. It argues that addressing the current predicament requires legal scholars to rethink foundational assumptions about global legal ordering. The handbook is the product of a collaboration among international and constitutional law scholars who share a commitment to developing new pathways towards a more inclusive global legal order.
