This book collects Professor Zhang’s main papers on his research into the Chinese legal genealogy, promoting the localized study on the Chinese legal system and providing valuable reference for the field of the history of the legal system.

The book is composed of three parts: Overview of Researches on the Chinese Legal Genealogy during the Period of the Republic of China, Summary of Researches on the Chinese Legal Genealogy—Process of my Study on the Chinese Legal Genealogy since Reform and Opening-up, and Great Rejuvenation of the Chinese Nation and Remolding of the Chinese Legal Genealogy. Professor Zhang not only deeply expounds the characteristics and values of the Chinese legal genealogy, but also objectively summarizes the historical origin of the termination of the Chinese legal genealogy. He points out that the reconstructed Chinese legal genealogy is the contemporary socialist legal genealogy with the assimilation of the world’s excellent legal cultures.
