Technological reanimation has proven to be big business, with many notable commercial entities investing in this "afterlife economy". Postmortem technologies convincingly replicate the appearance, physiognomy, conversation styles, and thought patterns of a deceased individual by generating digital copies that act in their stead. In the entertainment industry, new works can be created with dead celebrities through a postmortem copy that is managed by their representatives. The result is an economy in which the dead are offered as a product or service to consumers, with some having their artistic legacies extended past death through an "afterlife career". Many stakeholders stand to benefit from such a lucrative afterlife economy, but the law is simply not prepared for the issues that will arise with this exploitation of the dead. Reanimation requires the exploitation of one's reputation, persona, artistic works, and personal data. However, the corresponding legal protections are either nonexistent, inapplicable, or inconsistent across borders - depending on which posthumous interest is analyzed. Frank Frazetta ist seit über 50 Jahren der unangefochtene Meister der Fantasy Art, und der Wert seiner Gemälde wächst - wie die Bewunderung seiner Fans. Seine Werke brechen jedes Jahr die Auktionsrekorde des Vorjahres. Das Cover für Lancer Books 1967 Conan, zum Beispiel, brachte im September 2025 13,5 Millionen Dollar ein. Frazetta wurde 1928 als Sohn einer sizilianischen Einwandererfamilie in Brooklyn geboren und war Minor-League-Sportler, Kleinkrimineller und Serienverführer mit dem Aussehen eines Filmstars und phänomenalem Talent. Er bezeichnete sich selbst als faul und schwierig, begann oft erst in der Nacht vor dem Abgabetermin mit einem Gemälde, vollendete es in nur wenigen Stunden und lieferte dennoch ein Meisterwerk ab - oft noch feucht, aber ein Meisterwerk. Mit 16 Jahren begann er mit Comics, darunter auch die berüchtigten EC Comics, wechselte dann zu Filmplakaten und schließlich zu den Pulp-Covern von Tarzan und Conan. Obwohl er mit der "Hippie-Politik" der Redakteure nicht einverstanden war, produzierte er nebenbei Magazincover für National Lampoon, drehte mit Regisseur Ralph Bakshi den Animationsfilm Fire &amp; Ice und lernte mit 68 Jahren, nachdem sein rechter Arm nach dem ersten von vielen Schlaganfällen gelähmt war, mit der linken Hand zu zeichnen. Wie er in den 1970er Jahren erklärte: "Ich bin sehr körperfixiert. In Brooklyn kannte ich Conan, ich kannte Typen, die exakt so drauf waren wie er". Und er nutzte seine Vertrautheit mit Muskelpaketen und Machos, um die Fantasy-Helden noch massiver, bedrohlicher und testosteron-gesteuerter zu zeichnen. Ihre weiblichen Gegenstücke sind dickbeinig, mit schwerem Gesäß und elfenhaftem Gesicht, aber dennoch mit ihren weichen Bäuchen und Anzeichen von Cellulite glaubwürdig real. Bleibt nur noch zu sagen: Frazettas Kunst macht süchtig wie Kartoffelchips und ist jetzt in diesem kompakten, attraktiven und erschwinglichen Paket erhältlich.
