How Bitcoin Was Built, and Why You Never Have to Take It on Trust

Bitcoin has been declared dead hundreds of times, banned by governments, run by thieves and lost by custodians - and it has produced a block roughly every ten minutes through all of it. This is not an argument for owning it. It is an account of what the record shows: how the thing was built, by whom and under what pressure; what it survived and what the businesses around it did not; and what was settled, and what was not, at the cut-off date of 27 September 2026. No price targets. No forecasts. No allocation. Where the author says a thing happened, he names the record that proves it - the block, the transaction, the docket or the filing. Where the record is thin, the book says so in print. A hundred and two dated entries at the back, each with the handle that proves it, from the whitepaper of October 2008 to the cut-off. Four appendices: the whitepaper section by section, how to verify every claim in the book, custody ranked by what actually happens, and a first purchase set out mechanically, naming no provider. The maintained Record is kept at bitcoin.institute, which carries no advertising and no product. The author began teaching options in 2003, has taught more than fifty thousand students, and reversed eleven years of public scepticism about Bitcoin on the twelfth of May 2020, live and timestamped. Chapter 20 is what preceded that and what it cost. Book Three of The Disclosed Record, after The Wall Came Down and Long Island.
