&lt;p&gt;Die Autorin untersucht den Rollenwandel des EuGH im Laufe seiner Rechtsprechungstätigkeit. Vermittelte der EuGH mit einigen frühen „grands arrêts“ zuweilen das Bild eines aktivistischen Gerichts, das unter Verfolgung „einer gewissen Idee von Europa“ das Gemeinschaftsrecht ohne Rücksicht auf nationale Interessen und rechtsdogmatische Grenzen fortbildet, weist seine Rechtsprechung inzwischen vermehrt zurückhaltende, minimalistische Tendenzen auf. Diesen Tendenzen geht die Autorin nach. Im Fokus ihrer Untersuchung stehen hierbei die der mitgliedstaatlichen Judikative vermehrt eingeräumten Entscheidungsspielräume. Die Autorin analysiert mögliche Ursachen ebenso wie Nutzen und Gefahren einer solchen Dezentralisierung unionsrechtlicher Kontrolle.&lt;/p&gt;

Budgets are developed for diverse functions and activities in firms. They are designed to provide a basis for staff assessment, corporate growth, system effectiveness and efficiency for resources deployment in the best possible way to gain revenue, profit and brand advantages. Some budgets are formed by management and passed down to the employees, while another leadership involves some or all employees in budget planning and development to drive ownership and responsibility. Both approaches are productive, with more scholars favouring the bottom-up approach. This study will test the type of budgeting process at the ICT Service and the employees’ views on the process. If required, it will also focus on tweaking the structure to boost employee commitment and company performance.

Brazil is the world's sixth largest economy, has played a key role as one of the 'pink wave' administrations in Latin America, and was also responsible for wrecking the US-sponsored proposal for a Free Trade Area of the Americas. It is also one of the few large countries where social spending has risen and the distribution of income has improved in the last thirty years. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; However, as protests during the World Cup in 2014 have shown, the country remains highly unequal, unmet social needs are vast and its infrastructure is precarious.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Alfredo Saad-Filho and Lecio Morais review the paradox that is modern-day Brazil. Focusing on the period from 1980 onwards, they analyse the tensions between the two systemic transitions to have dominated the country: the political transition from military rule to democracy, and to neoliberalism. The authors show how these transitions had contradictory logics and dynamics, yet ultimately became mutually supportive as they unfolded and intertwined.

If one goes by its general meaning, it would mean any act done in furtherance of “fair treatment”.  And with the present large awakening era our country is going through, it is time for the meaning of affirmative action to be widened and not be confined only to ‘reservation’. Affirmative action is every step taken, every action done and every statute enacted enabling every underprivileged, prejudiced, deprived person belonging to a minority group or the like, to stand equally. And, especially in case of affirmative action in education, not only shall these actions fall under the definition of ‘affirmative action’ but should also include the duties and roles of the students, parents, teachers and of society as a whole discharged in order to achieve “education for all”, as aimed for by the UNESCO. It is affirmative action when the poor family sends its ward to the nearest school for education instead of forcing him/her to get engaged with the family business. It is affirmative action when a child struggles with his parents for permission to let him go to the school, it is affirmative action when a teacher finds joy in imparting education to the children and the society encourages the school going children and the education.
