Learning Can Stick

Four conditions are mandatory for people to learn...the environment must be safe, logical, fun, and memorable.

Safe: This is psychological safety more than physical safety. People need to know they can ask questions, make mistakes, and not know the answers.

Logical: You have to have a plan, stick to the plan, and you cannot be the only person who knows the plan.

Fun: People quit things that aren't fun, but fun doesn't mean the same thing to everyone. There is a universal definition of fun however. Fun means people feel valued and appreciated. Fun means people have a voice and are encouraged to use it. Fun means people are able to leverage their talents for the greater good.

Memorable: One and done sharing of information simply doesn't work. Instead you have to sprinkle, splash, flood, drip, drip, drip information.

When these conditions exist people can learn and grow with you. In this book, we explore how to intentionally create these conditions in every conversation you have moving forward.
