'Continuity and Change. The Organisation of Constitutional Jurisdiction in the German States from the Weimar Republic to the Present Day': The paper is dedicated to the historical development of the constitutional courts of the federal states. Firstly, the states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Hesse and Thuringia are analysed to determine which path dependencies exist between the respective Weimar state courts and today's state constitutional courts and which peculiarities can be identified. The other influencing factors that significantly shaped the organisation of constitutional jurisdiction after 1945 are then examined.
