Max Strobel examines the European Union's enforcement strategies using the example of the Frontex Regulation and connects legal analysis with the current state of compliance research. On this basis, he formulates clear requirements for the distribution of (implementation) competences between the EU and its member states. Specifically, he addresses the question of whether the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) should be vested with executive powers and thus directly enforce EU law.
