His research focuses on business economics in the port and maritime sector, and in hinterland transport and urban logistics. He is the chair&nbsp;of&nbsp;the World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) Special Interest Group on&nbsp;Ports&nbsp;and Maritime, and topic area manager&nbsp;for&nbsp;WCTR’s Transport Modes tracks. He is also the chair&nbsp;of&nbsp;the Freight &amp; Logistics group within the European Transport Conference.
Lieven Quintens is the Scientific Director&nbsp;of&nbsp;the Brightlands Insititute&nbsp;for&nbsp;Supply Chain&nbsp;Innovation&nbsp;at Maastricht University, School&nbsp;of&nbsp;Business and Economics, The Netherlands. His research focuses on inter- and intra-firm relationships in purchasing and supply chain management, sustainability and circularity and the role&nbsp;of&nbsp;supply chain management in a carbonless society.
