Die Geschlossenheit der Völkerrechtsordnung
Eine Untersuchung zum Lotus-Grundsatz des Internationalen Gerichtshofs und Lücken im Völkerrecht
'The Completeness of International Law. A Study on the Lotus Principle of the International Court of Justice and Gaps International Law': The thesis explores the current state of the debate on gaps (or lacunae) in international law. The author argues that the sources of international law in principle allow for lacunae in international law. Expanding on this, he examines international case-law and state practice, concluding that states are - in principle - enjoying freedom of action. On that Basis, he further analyzes the limits of this principle and its applicability to non-state actors in international law.
