Pedro de Morales ejerció como abogado en Madrid y en Granada antes de entrar en la Compañía de Jesús en 1570. Partió a la Nueva España con la expedición que incluía a Pedro de Hortigosa para «leer las artes y teología» en el Colegio de San Pedro y San Pablo. 
Trabajó como calificador e inquisidor del Santo Oficio y como consultor en el Tercer Concilio Mexicano en 1585. 
La crónica de Pedro de Morales no sólo hace una descripción pormenorizada de los diferentes elementos de la celebración; entre ellos música, danzas y adornos indígenas, sino que incluye algunos textos literarios escritos para acompañar la festividad, lo que aporta una valiosa información sobre este tipo de actos públicos.
Vale destacar que en el Virreinato de México la práctica teatral tuvo para la Compañía de Jesús una finalidad «catequística», el drama servía en la labor educativa de la Compañía. Según Ignacio de Loyola se debía de hacer más ameno e interesante el magisterio con la realización de actividades como la rima de versos o la práctica de diálogos recitados.

Esta edición de las "Constituciones fundacionales de Nicaragua" reúne dos documentos cruciales en la historia política de Nicaragua: las Constituciones de 1826 y 1838. Estas constituciones reflejan un período significativo de formación estatal y de definición de la identidad nacional en un contexto de cambios y desafíos post-independencia.
La Constitución de 1826, proclamada tras la Asamblea Constituyente elegida en 1825, establece las bases del Estado de Nicaragua, definiendo su territorio, derechos y deberes. An exploration of Cuba's emerging digital culture and Cubans' creation of grassroots networks, digital black markets, and online spaces for public debateUntil just a few years ago, Cuba was one of the least-connected countries in the world. But as digital technology has become increasingly available, Cubans have found inventive ways to work around such remaining barriers as slow speeds, high costs, and inadequate infrastructure. In Island in the Net, Steffen Köhn examines Cuba's nascent digital culture and how it has reconfigured the relationship between the state and its citizens. Köhn shows that through innovations including "sneakernets" (the physical transfer of information by flash drives and other devices), digital black markets, and online spaces for political debates, Cubans have successfully challenged the government's monopoly on media and public discourse. Drawing on multisited ethnographic research, Köhn documents Cuba's digital awakening, from the introduction of accessible Wi-Fi in 2015 to the social media-fueled protests in July 2021. Cubans' community-driven digital innovations, he suggests, could be models for potential alternatives to the current Big Tech-dominated internet. Each chapter in Island in the Net is accompanied by a multimodal anthropology work: a video game, interactive installations, video art, an ethnographic documentary, and an expanded cinema installation. These unique media, created with Cuban artist Nestor Siré and other local collaborators, accessible to readers via a QR code, bring the book's argument vividly to life.

One Hundred Years of Solitude

La Constitución española de 1876 se promulgó el 30 de junio de 1876 por Antonio Cánovas del Castillo. A partir de un borrador confeccionado por un grupo de 600 notables, antiguos senadores y diputados de anteriores legislaturas, designados por Cánovas.
La comisión definitiva, presidida por Manuel Alonso Martínez, contaba con treinta y nueve miembros. El texto final se aprobó sin grandes cambios por unas Cortes constituyentes elegidas por sufragio universal masculino de acuerdo a lo previsto en la Constitución española de 1869.
Esta constitución estuvo vigente cuarenta y siete años, hasta el golpe de Estado de Primo de Rivera de 1923, siendo la constitución más duradera de la historia de España hasta el momento.
De entre las principales características de la Constitución de 1876, cabe señalar las siguientes:


Soberanía compartida entre las Cortes y el rey, siendo este último el encargado de regular los tres poderes del Estado, así como dirigir y moderar la vida política.
Establecía un poder legislativo bicameral, con un Senado cuyos miembros eran designados por el rey, y un Congreso de los Diputados salido de los procesos electorales.
Carecía de una regulación de los derechos ciudadanos, que se dejaban en manos de la legislación posterior y la interpretación de los gobiernos de turno.
No especificaba el sistema de votación, quedando el derecho al sufragio abierto al uso de la modalidad basada en el censo o a su universalización. Finalmente, el sufragio universal masculino terminó por imponerse en 1890.
Sus firmantes fueron: Alfonso XII. El Presidente del Consejo de Ministros, Ministro interino de Hacienda, Antonio Cánovas del Castillo. El Ministro de Estado, Fernando Calderón y Collantes. El Ministro de Gracia y Justicia, Cristóbal Martín de Herrera.
El Ministro de la Guerra, Francisco de Ceballos y Vargas. El Ministro de Marina, Juan de Antequera. El Ministro de la Gobernación, Francisco Romero y Robledo. El Ministro de Fomento, Francisco Queipo de Llano. El Ministro de Ultramar, Adelardo López de Ayala.

The final part analyses Cuba’s economy and society in transition up to the present day.
