The TV and Movie industries created the Italian American stereotypes we know today. 
These stereotypes don't reflect the extraordinary impacts of Italian American individuals of all ages and economic backgrounds on the cultural and economic advancement of the United States to address this, the Italian American Reputation Lab (IARL) is presenting an analytic report on how the historical and current Italian diaspora depict a very different narrative than the mainstream media of how Italian-Americans have contributed to shaping the cultural and economic fabric of the United States.

Davide Ippolito is one of the foremost international experts on Reputation Literacy, Reputation Management, and Contents Creation. He's a publisher, a filmmaker, and a producer of both feature films and documentaries which are available on Amazon Prime and Pluto. Founder of the streaming media platform Business+, he serves as the Chief Scientific Officer for the USA-based Italian American Reputation Lab (IARL). For a decade Ippolito consulted with prominent Italian organizations and media/TV outlets operating in the diplomatic, academic, and industrial sectors. In recent years he has been engaged by international and US entities such as the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF), the Columbus Foundation, and the United Nations. Davide has authored several books on the Reputation Management topic and on September 12th, 2023, he released his new docu-film "New York Solo Andata" at the Italian Cultural Center of New York City. Davide regularly writes for several Italian magazines and newspapers, and he participates in various Italian national television news programs and talk shows.

This book examines the relationship between LGBTIQ communities and law in Australia from colonial times to the present day, with a particular concentration on the last 40 years. Using a socio-legal analysis that combines legislation, case law, media reports, policy materials and government data, it traces the historical shift from criminalisation and erasure to conditional legal recognition. The book develops a critical queer perspective, analysing how sexual and gender minorities moved from being classified through the figure of the criminal ‘homosexual’ to being recognised as members of LGBTIQ communities with a status of almost legal equality. Structured historically, its chapters examine distinct phases of legal reform, governance and LGBTIQ activism. The book covers key issues in sexuality, gender, family, embodiment and sex classification, while offering an extended account of the legal questions affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer people. Although focused on Australia, it speaks to wider debates across post-colonial jurisdictions, Commonwealth countries and the United States. This book demonstrates how legal knowledge is a vital, empowering tool in human rights education. Despite the centrality of international human rights law to the global rights framework, its role in human rights education (HRE) - particularly in schools and community settings - has been sidelined, dismissed as either too technical or too politically problematic. This book challenges that marginalisation head-on. It examines how legal knowledge is framed, valued, or rejected in the theory and practice of HRE, engaging critically with the prevailing trends in the field: one that gestures toward law but avoids depth, and another that disavows law entirely in favour of culturally embedded alternatives. Through a close reading of scholarship and policy, combined with insights from educational theory and socio-legal studies, the book argues for law's role as a form of "powerful knowledge" in HRE. It contends that access to and understanding of legal norms and mechanisms are not only essential for meaningful rights education but are themselves enabling rights in practice. The book will be of interest to scholars and students of human rights, legal pedagogy, and education policy, as well as practitioners developing HRE programs. It offers a timely, nuanced intervention into a field grappling with deep epistemological and political tensions, and reasserts the value of law in the struggle for rights.

The Role of Law in Human Rights Education

The Souls of Black Folk: Essays and Sketches is a 1903 work of American literature by W. E. B. Du Bois. It is a seminal work in the history of sociology and a cornerstone of African-American literature.

The book contains several essays on race, some of which had been published earlier in The Atlantic Monthly. To develop this work, Du Bois drew from his own experiences as an African American in American society. Outside of its notable relevance in African-American history, The Souls of Black Folk also holds an important place in social science as one of the early works in the field of sociology.

In The Souls of Black Folk, Du Bois used the term "double consciousness", perhaps taken from Ralph Waldo Emerson ("The Transcendentalist" and "Fate"), applying it to the idea that black people must have two fields of vision at all times. They must be conscious of how they view themselves, as well as being conscious of how the world views them.
