This book offers a comprehensive legal examination of the proportionality of sanctions for doping in sports. Doping violates the level playing field and the spirit of sport and devastates athletes' health. While punishing those who violate anti-doping rules is essential, the battle against doping should not become a relentless pursuit without redemption. This book offers an innovative look into the proportionality of sanctions for doping, calling for a balanced approach that is both strong and fair. This book examines the World Anti-Doping Code in force from 2027 and changes compared to its predecessors. Some sanctions can be considered proportionate, but some may be excessively harsh. This book delves into the critical areas where punishment might overstep the bounds of proportionality. It analyses cases where sanctions may permanently end athletes' careers or ignore circumstances surrounding their cases. This book answers one important question: Could a more compassionate approach lead to a cleaner and more humane sport? The book proposes modifications to the current system. By aligning sanctions with the goals of clean sport and allowing room for reform, anti-doping organisations can build a fairer sporting world where second chances are not a forbidden dream.

 is currently an independent researcher. He received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Administration from Tabriz University and his Master's degree from Atatürk University. Facing the Child investigates the technocratic expertise in the policing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Mitali Thakor argues that CSAM has come to be framed as primarily a digital problem, to be resolved digitally, thereby unleashing a new form of corporatized policing helmed by global technology companies. Ambitious in scope, this multi-sited global ethnography draws on four years of original fieldwork and interviews with technology companies in the US, the United Nations in Bangkok, Thai and Dutch NGOs, and law enforcement in the US and the Netherlands. The book argues that in the 2010s, a network of technology companies, NGOs, and law enforcement created the notion of a “virtual child” in need of techno-solutionist saving to justify a vast expansion of surveillance technologies. The book examines how pervasive myths of child abuse online were exploited to serve the aims of seemingly disparate groups, from Christian neo-abolitionists to NGOs conducting virtual sting operations. It is this complex relationship between the care and securitization needed to fix the child victim as an object of data, concern, and rescue that the book explores.
