He is also a Research Fellow of the University of the Free State, South Africa.

Der Fotograf Aleix Plademunt ist ein Alchimist des Fotobuchs. Aus einer Vielzahl sehr unterschied- licher Aufnahmen lässt er ein Ganzes sichtbar werden. In Matter, seinem vielfach ausgezeichneten Fotobuch, das 2022 bei Spector Books erschienen ist, bewegt er sich zwischen Mikro- und Makro- kosmos, zwischen Sonne und winziger Materie. In Campus widmet er sich nun dem Vitra-Campus in Weil am Rhein, unweit von Basel. Vitra ist ein vielschichtiges Projekt: ein Schweizer Möbel- unternehmen, ein Campus mit Gebäuden wichtiger zeitgenössischer Architekt·innen wie Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Tadao Ando, Álvaro Siza, ein Museum - das Vitra Design Museum -, Möbel- sammlungen, Nachlässe und Archive für Design und Architektur, Gartenanlagen, Publikationen, Menschen. Alle diese Motive, ergänzt um einige historische Aufnahmen, fügt Aleix Plademunt in Campus zum Bild eines Ortes, an dem man ahnt, was Gestaltung bedeutet - als Utopie und als alltägliche Arbeit.

Aleix Plademunt, geb. 1980 in Girona, hat zunächst Ingenieurswesen studiert und 2003 an der UPC Barcelona sein Fotografie-Studium abgeschlossen. Seitdem hat er an einer Vielzahl fotografischer Projekte gearbeitet. Seine Fotografien waren bei über 40 Gruppen- und 20 Einzelausstellungen zu sehen. Zu den wichtigsten gehören Matter im MACBA (Barcelona, 2021) und Almost There im Le Bal (Paris, 2014).
