Wie werden Gender- und Queer-History-Projekte im lokalen Kontext und im kleinstädtischen Raum umgesetzt? Die Beiträger*innen widmen sich anhand des Fallbeispiels Südtirol der Frauen-, Geschlechter- und Queer-Geschichte in Minderheitengebieten. Südtirol repräsentiert einen Kontext intersektionaler Diversität, in dem verschiedene Arten von Minderheiten (z.B. hinsichtlich ihrer sexuellen Orientierung, ihrer Geschlechtsidentität oder ihres Migrationshintergrundes) aufeinandertreffen. Aus den Forschungsergebnissen lassen sich nicht nur neue theoretische Aspekte für die Gender Studies gewinnen, sondern auch praktische Implikationen für das Leben in einer Gesellschaft, die von multipler Diversität geprägt ist.

This open access book presents an all-encompassing way to understand lobbying: the 'Diversion Guide'. This shows that lobbying is problematic when institutions are diverted from acting in the public interest. It reveals why diversions happen, how they are linked together, and what can be done to prevent them. The reader can use the 'Diversion Guide' to identify any problem about lobbying, and test when an officeholder has been diverted from acting in the public interest. The book examines how lobbying can encourage citizen participation and lead to informed law and policy, but is not always fair. It considers the way in which wealthy and influential people can gain greater access to the United Kingdom's political system than most to shape the laws that govern everyone. Scandals are often reported in the media surrounding unequal access, corruption, the revolving door, and more. Unchecked, such lobbying corrodes trust in public institutions. It is vital that the problems surrounding lobbying are clearly understood to avoid a system of weak regulations and to ensure that better regulations are created to restore public trust in politics. The 'Diversion Guide' can be used to this end. The ebook editions of this book are available open access under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence on bloomsburycollections.com. This open access book critically analyses a wide range of consumer law issues generated or exacerbated by the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things challenges many of the dichotomies which have shaped current laws: goods-services, hardware-software, tangible-intangible, online-offline. The book focuses on 4 specific challenges: things-as-service, liability, bricking of physical devices through software control, and the potential for enhanced personalisation, especially for digital assistants. The chapters analyse specific applications such as smart homes, connected cars, and consumer wearables with a view to providing innovative solutions to the new challenges posed by the Internet of Things, and to steer the development of the Internet of Things in a fairer direction. As well as offering an important analysis of the potential for smart consumer laws in the Internet of Things, the book also provides important insights into the growing divergence between Germany's and the UK's consumer laws since Brexit.
