Das auf mehrere Bande angelegte Werk prasentiert nahezu das gesamte deutsche Verfassungsrecht des Zeitraumes zwischen 1806 und 1918. Hiermit wird der sich gleichsam schrittweise vollziehende Ubergang von einem traditionell standischen oder gar furstlich-absolutistischen zu einem zumeist monarchisch-konstitutionellen System aufgearbeitet, dessen jaher Untergang schlielich in die nationalstaatlich-republikanisch gepragte demokratisch-parlamentarische Staatsform Weimars mundet. Mit dem Gesamtwerk steht dem Fachpublikum eine leicht zugangliche, bislang nicht gekannte Fulle von Dokumenten zur Verfugung, die fur die verfassungsrechtliche Entwicklung Deutschlands und seiner einzelnen Staaten von zentraler Bedeutung waren. Dabei wird groer Wert auf die authentische, d. h. buchstaben- und zeichengetreue Ubernahme der Texte gelegt. Dem jeweiligen Dokumententeil sind in jedem Band "Historische Einfuhrungen" vorangestellt. In diesem Rahmen werden an den einschlagigen Dokumenten orientierte (verfassungs-) rechtliche, zeitlich wie territorial ubergreifende entwicklungsgeschichtliche Darstellungen vorgenommen. In dem hier vorliegenden 3. Band werden erstmals uber 450 Verfassungsdokumente prasentiert, welche fur die verfassungsstaatliche Entwicklung des Groherzogtums Berg und des Herzogtums Braunschweig pragend waren. Begleitet wird diese Textedition durch eine ausfuhrliche historische Einfuhrung.

This volume is the first in-depth collection to explore the impact of language on the field of comparative constitutional law. It addresses the epistemological and conceptual implications of English as the lingua franca. In this regard, it considers the global influence of Anglophone jurisdictions in orienting the discourse through the identification of concepts, designs and ideas that warrant engagement and exploration outside of those origin jurisdictions. In doing so, the book underscores that language is not a neutral device but can produce hegemonic pressures and expectations. It further makes the role of language in conducting comparative constitutional law explicit, so that its users can be more deliberate in their selection of foreign materials and are made conscious of the limitations of their findings due to language barriers. The book calls for a reckoning with the rich constitutional vocabulary that non-Anglophone jurisdictions have to offer to ensure a more holistic approach to the creation of knowledge. It also emphasises the need for the contextualised study of constitutional phenomena to appreciate how these are shaped by linguistic choices. In addition to raising awareness about language's significance as an epistemological, conceptual and methodological device, the volume also puts forward constructive tools and techniques to harness language's potential, making it an indispensable resource for scholars, students, lawmakers and judges.

Proceeding from Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, this examination plots how memory laws have preceded, partially led to, and encouraged the outbreak of the war itself via Russian propaganda. It also offers a broader perspective looking at developments in the Baltic States, Belarus, Finland, Germany, Hungary, and Poland, as well as in European (Council of Europe and European Union) law. This book is the first comprehensive academic treatment of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) and employment rights, which has a global vocation demonstrated by having been ratified by 173 States since it was adopted in 1966. The ICESCR is the most important global UN instrument in this respect. It covers a wide range of employment rights, including the right to strike, and has global application.
