Berta spent three decades in a house with her bitter aunt, her books and her sorrows. Her life has little to offer, until the death of her aunt leaves her a promise to fulfill: to take her ashes to the Zone of Silence, a mystical desert between Durango, Chihuahua and Coahuila. She takes her course and destiny finds her far from home, in a passing hotel in Torróen, when she discovers some teenagers who get together to recite poetry in an adjoining vacant lot.
