Spatial Agency and Occupation

Migrant Domestic Workers in Hong Kong

This study explores the influence of stakeholders on higher education policy within the context of the knowledge economy. More precisely, it examines the influence of employers' associations, universities, and regional and national political authorities on higher education policy in the cases of Ireland and Spain. Drawing from the literature on Growth Models (GM), the study employs a combination of content analysis of 31 semi-structured expert interviews, descriptive statistics, and analyses of official documents from regional and national stakeholders. The analysis identifies the existence of two intertwined underlying conditions as central to the ability of specific stakeholders to influence higher education policy: the characteristics of labour markets and the governance structure of higher education systems. The findings demonstrate that national stakeholders exert a greater influence in centralised higher education systems, while regional stakeholders have a more significant impact in decentralised higher education systems.

C'est une grande fierté de rendre accessible cet ouvrage essentiel, à la richesse qui demeure inégalée. Ce tome trois vient avec quatre autres pour constituer une série de référence. Il se concentre sur le monopole et la concurrence, constituant une des grandes contributions de l'auteur à la science économique. Voir que le libre marché ne peut pas produire de monopoles fut un résultat qui chamboula la science politique, avec des conséquences sur la pensée libérale, car alors il devient clair que tout monopole ne peut être le fruit que de la législation. Soulignons le tour de force de Rothbard dans ce livre, sur un sujet qui par nature pourrait être très technique, celui de savoir rester accessible à tous les lecteurs. L'abondance des exemples très concrets tirés de la vie de tous jours, servant de fil rouge aux développements des notions, rend la lecture aisée. Rappelons de plus qu'un traité d'économie autrichienne ne contient aucune de ces formules faisant fuir les débutants. L'approche suivie par Rothbard est très pédagogique, les situations sont très précises et détaillées, souvent illustrées par des graphiques, inattendus mais réellement ' autrichiens '. Murray Rothbard, pour convaincre ses lecteurs, a parié sur la pertinence des explications. Cela nous a ainsi donné un livre qui reste et restera longtemps incontournable. Enfin aujourd'hui, malgré de fortes résistances des théories mainstream, l'École autrichienne dispose d'un instrument précieux dans la langue de Frédéric Bastiat et de Gustave de Molinari...

L'Homme, l'Economie et l'Etat

"Il capitale" è un testo fondamentale della modernità, una pietra miliare del pensiero filosofico, economico e politico. C'è poco da fare: per capire qualcosa del mondo che ci circonda, nel bene e nel male, non si può proprio ignorarlo.
