Sohappy v. Smith

Case Citation, Columbia River, Boldt Decision, Corfield v. Coryell

Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Sohappy v. Smith, 302 F.Supp. 899 (D.Or. 1969), along with the combined United States v. Oregon, was a federal case heard by the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, decided in 1969 and amended in 1975. It acknowledged the right of several tribes of Native Americans to fish in the Columbia River with minimal regulation by the government of the United States or local governments. Case citation is the system used in many countries to identify the decisions in past court cases, either in special series of books called reporters or law reports, or in a 'neutral' form which will identify a decision wherever it was reported. Although case citations are formatted differently in different jurisdictions, they generally contain the same key information.
