Placing the Nation

Rather than viewing nationalism as something that exists purely on a national scale, "Placing the Nation" examines how the importance of people embedded within particular places contributes to nationalism's cultural reproduction. Articulating this theme by examining the contributions of Aberystwyth citizens to the reproduction of Welsh nationalism since the 1960s, this volume demonstrates how national discourses and practices are generated within specific locales and then communicated to the broader membership of the nation.
