Und dieser Tage beherrschen Schlagzeilen über das verheerende Erdbeben in Nepal unsere Nachrichten. Diese und weitere Beispiele sind Thema des vorliegenden Lese- und Lehrbuchs. Die Geographie ist durch das Zusammenwirken von physio- und humangeographischen Ansätzen wie keine andere Wissenschaft dazu prädestiniert, die vielfach miteinander verknüpften Problemlagen einer Katastrophe in ihren zahlreichen Facetten und Handlungsdimensionen umfassend zu "begreifen".
