Integral Vehicle Safety

Biomechanics – Accident Prevention – Occupant Protection – Sensors - Vehicle Safety in the Development Process
Herausgegeben von:Schöneburg, Rodolfo

Inhalt

Integral safety plays a significant role in the design of motor vehicles, in user survey results and in reporting in specialized journals or on the internet. Development conditions change at ever shorter intervals due to new laws, rating programs and CAE methods. One focus of innovation lies in the increasing automation of driving tasks and in the phase that connects active with passive safety – preventive safety. This book has served as an important reference for 25 years for all those working in vehicle safety. In the 5th edition, the growing importance of accident prevention and mitigation is reflected in the inclusion of a dedicated chapter and new sections on telematics and radar technology. The chapters on “Vehicle Safety Assessment” and “Occupant and Partner Protection” have been extensively revised and updated. In addition, the scope of computational and experimental simulation has been integrated into the chapter “Integral Safety in the Vehicle Development Process” and expanded with new methods. The content Integral safety Accident research Biomechanics Vehicle safety assessment Accident prevention and mitigation of accident severity Occupant and partner protection Sensors for accident detection Integral safety in the vehicle development process  Target groups Development engineers in the automotive industry with a focus on vehicle safety Insurance industry professionals Vehicle experts Teachers and students in vehicle technology  The editor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rodolfo Schoeneburg has more than 35 years of experience in the field of vehicle safety in leadership roles at leading vehicle manufacturers. Until 2022, he taught the subject “Integral Vehicle Safety” at the HTW and TU in Dresden and supports engineering service providers and restraint system suppliers with his consulting office RSC Safety Engineering. For his contributions to safety, he has been recognized with numerous international awards. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence.
