However such tasks base on the same assumptions and functioning, a whole academic discipline arose since its importance was recognized in the late 1980s. Questions like the optimal decision making process, capacity considerations, scale effects or the best facility location between other production centers and the distributions centers within (bigger) cities are covered in this text.
