Energy Space Time: Introducing Energy Metrics Of Interactions In Five Dimensions

This textbook presents an introduction to continuum mechanics covering fundamental mathematical tools, general laws and major models. The material is based on lectures held at Gubkin's Russian State University of Oil and Gas. It also includes material related to a joint research seminar with the Institute of Problems in Mechanics of the Russian Academy of Science. The knowledge provided is necessary to understand the structure of existing models, to read and understand the literature and to apply existing methods consciously. Results from computer simulations of virtual models of oil-gas-production are presented to illustrate applications.&nbsp;Graduate students as well as researchers in applied mathematics will benefit from this self-contained text which is enriched by many examples and exercises.

Principles of classical Hamiltonian mechanics say that the evolution of a dynamical system is determined by the Poisson bracket of observable functions with the given Hamiltonian function of the system. In Quantum Mechanics, these principles are modified so that the algebra of observable functions should be replaced by a noncommutative algebra of operators and the Poisson bracket by their commutator so that the canonical commutation relations hold. Thus, working with quantum systems, we must determine the 'quantisation' of our observables, i.e. to choose a noncommutative algebra whose elements would play the role of the observables. With some modifications, this question is the main content of the Deformation Quantisation problem formulated in 1978 by Flato and others.This book is based on the course that the author taught in the Fall semester of 2019 at Peking University. The main purpose of that course and of this book is to acquaint the reader with the vast scope of ideas related to the Deformation Quantisation of Poisson manifolds. The book begins with Quantum Mechanics and Moyal product formula and covers the three main constructions that solve the Deformation Quantisation problem: Lecomte and de Wilde deformation of symplectic manifolds, Fedosov's Quantisation theory and Kontsevich's formality theorem. In the appendices, the Tamarkin's proof of formality theorem is outlined.The book is written in a reader-friendly manner and is as self-contained as possible. It includes several sets of problems and exercises that will help the reader to master the material.

Intended for graduate and advanced undergraduate students, this textbook is a thoroughly modern introduction to and a self-contained treatise on the theoretical and mathematical fundamentals of General Relativity. The chapters are organized into three parts, with the first covering Maxwell's theory of electromagnetism, the relativistic Kepler problem, and the systematics of the underlying geometry, with the more abstract notion of the fibre bundle relegated to the Appendix. One of the more contentious debates to emerge into scientific prominence has been whether life is prevalent in the cosmos and its level of complexity. &nbsp;Of the many factors that shape this debate, one of the most overlooked yet crucial rests on the different roles that temporal organization plays in biotic systems.Although the origin and evolution of life is dependent on the arrow of time, rooted in entropy, the traditional understanding of time’s arrow is insufficient to account for the diverse types of temporal processes characteristic of living organisms; most notably, the diverse functions played by past-present-future in shaping biotic systems. Far from a minor problem, the author argues that the forms of temporal (bio-tensed) organization utilized by biotic systems shape not only the emergence and prevalence of all life, but also the scientific theories we use to explain the universe along with the moral concepts that inform our responsibilities to extraterrestrial life (should we find any).&nbsp; Drawing from philosophy, the life sciences and astrobiology, this book argues that understanding the centrality of temporality for living systems provides crucial insights that help answer the epistemological, ethical and cosmological challenges that face astrobiology’s search for the origins and prevalence of life in the universe. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

This book provides a general overview as well as country-specific details of the role that space technology is currently playing and can potentially play in enhancing human lives and fulfilling the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in selected South Asian countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka). Focusing on the unique requirements and situations that exist in each of the selected countries, it provides country-specific analysis and recommendations. Analysis of national policies and laws have been carried out so as to maximize the benefits of space technology, with a view to making this sector a potent enabler and contributor in each country’s march toward attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, thereby to overall development.

The Navier-Stokes equations - modeling the motion of viscous, incompressible Newtonian fluids - have been capturing the attention of an increasing number of mathematicians over the years and has now become one of the most intensely studied subjects in applied analysis. Fundamental Theories of Physics

This book highlights that Mass and Proper Time, which are well-defined classically, have all sorts of conceptual problems when considered quantum- machanically. When systems interact, the masses change to include binding energies, etc., but are not treated as variables within the standard formalism. Similarly, proper time becomes an ambiguous concept when particles are entangled, or when they can take several different paths. But the formalism can easily be extended, so that they become conjugate dynamical variables, and there is an uncertainty principle between mass and proper time. There are many examples of this, but it is not easy to prove convincingly, since one can always experimentally change a mass-time relationship into a momentum-position one, which is well known. It is only in the case of unstable particles, where one sees a clear difference. The new formalism treats a system where particles can decay, even classically, which they cannot do conventionally. In this capacity, the theory merges into other situations where particles decay. But it is clear within this theory, that the mechanism that controls how masses change is gravitational, and so one finally has the possibility of merging gravity with the other forces of nature in a natural way. This can be accomplished by a natural extension of the principle of equivalence. The book describes how the theory naturally blends gravity into the other forces, providing a hope for an integrated theory of the forces of nature.&nbsp;The emphasis of the book is always physical, rather than mathematical, so that the theory does not seem to be an ad-hoc mathematical add-on to conventional theories.
