In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde eine Systematik der Argumentsstrukturen normativer Aussagen über (Nutz-)Tiere vorgestellt, mit deren Hilfe Fachdiskurse und Alltagsdiskurse im Hinblick auf Parallelitäten und Divergenzen untersucht wurden. Es wurde gezeigt, dass auch in nicht fachspezifischen Diskursen Aspekte und Versatzstücke von Denk und Argumentationsmustern genutzt werden, wie sie aus der tierethischen Theorie bekannt sind. Um das bekannte Bild aufzugreifen: Der sprichwörtliche abgeschottete Elfenbeinturm offenbart sich als nicht isoliert, als nicht abgeschieden und undurchlässig. Es handelt sich nicht um voneinander unabhängige, sich nicht beeinflussende Diskurssphären.
