Dynamics of Motor Vehicles

Contenu

The fundamentals of vehicle dynamics are presented in full in this work. Starting from the forces acting on the vehicle during acceleration or braking, driving resistances, driving limits, vibration excitation for single and double-track vehicles are presented. In addition to the types of vibration, vehicle models, current standards and legal regulations are taken into account. The theory is made applicable by a wealth of vehicle data in table or diagram form and by many calculation examples. The discussion of the results leads to suggestions for the improvement of motor vehicles. New in the 5th edition are contributions on automated manual transmissions, double clutch transmissions as well as on torque vectoring and on fuel consumption and CO2.

This book is a translation of an original German edition. The translation was done with the help of artificial intelligence (machine translation by the service DeepL.com). A subsequent human revision was done primarily in terms of content, so that the book will read stylistically differently from a conventional translation.
