Deleuzo-Guattarian philosophy provides crucial insights for assessing the post-neoliberal era in this cutting-edge volume of anti-capitalist scholarship. It maps the critical new assemblages emerging out of decades of neoliberalism to diagnose contemporary and future discontent. Working alongside other forms of inquiry into the post-neoliberal era, the volume proposes a novel combination of ethics and Deleuzo-Guattarian philosophy to understand the post-neoliberal era. Contributors argue that current critiques of neoliberalism ignore the determining role of colonialism and the accelerated threat of climate breakdown. They highlight the precariousness of our planetary existence and propose new forms of inquiry into Deleuzo-Guattarian becoming. Deleuze, Guattari and the Schizoanalysis of Post-Neoliberalism considers new modes of capitalism, societies built on exhaustion, digital power, education, agroforestry, as well as literary texts that characterise the post-neoliberal era. Alongside these critical positions, the volume uses an ethical framework to challenge dialectical divisions in neoliberal critique. In the process, the essays remap the antagonisms, discontents and tensions of current post-neoliberal becoming.

Pushing against the association of Islamic philosophy with a temporal and geographical 'elsewhere', this work makes the case for a Ricoeurian hermeneutics of appropriation that revitalises Avicenna's thinking for the philosophy of today. Selami Varlik develops a precise approach to the appropriation of Avicenna, exploring the tension between being and non-being inherent in the notion of creation as crucial both to Ricoeur's hermeneutics and to the duality between essence and existence in Avicenna. Although he pays careful attention to their theological differences, Varlik identifies paths of convergence between Avicenna and Ricoeur on the levels of both form and content. In relation to form, he identifies a common language based on a shared concern with putting belief in tension with rational discourse. With regard to content, he explores similarities and divergences between the two philosophers' approaches to the concept of creation. An aspect of this is the pivotal role played by Avicenna's conception of ex nihilo creation in medieval philosophy, which Varlik interprets as indirectly influencing the distinction between origin and temporal beginning in Ricoeur. This is a vital contribution to the development of a living Islamic philosophy that skilfully navigates the tensions between the experience of the text and its conceptual dimension on the one hand and between fidelity to a philosophical tradition and semantic innovation on the other.

This edited volume brings together scholars from diverse theoretical traditions to present and discuss their perspective on theory-building in psychology. Amid ongoing discussions about a potential (theory) crisis in the discipline, this collection offers a timely and comprehensive overview of key debates. It serves as a foundation for further reflection and future research.The book consists of three parts. The chapters in the first part analyse conceptual and philosophical issues underlying theory- and model-building in psychology. By contextualizing the debate with historical and interdisciplinary arguments, these chapters provide a framework for further discussion. The second part is dedicated to the challenges that emerge when inquiring into the nature of theory- and model-building in psychology. Psychology faces a unique set of meta-scientific concerns that any attempt at solution needs to recognize. Such attempts are discussed in the third part of the book. The book concludes with a final chapter, in which the individual contributions are situated within the current debate on theory- and model-building in psychology.Fabian Hutmacher is a lecturer at the University of Würzburg, Germany. In his research, he combines empirical methods and (meta-)theoretical reflections to arrive at a better understanding of individual and collective processes of reasoning and remembering. He also holds a keen interest in the philosophy and history of psychology. He is the editor of two books and has published in leading general interest journals such as American Psychologist, Psychological Inquiry, and Psychological Science as well as in journals specializing in meta-theoretical questions, such as Theory &amp; Psychology and the Journal of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology.Alexander Nicolai Wendt is a lecturer at the Sigmund Freud University, Vienna, Austria, and the Ruprecht Karls University of Heidelberg, Germany. Besides experimental cognitive psychology, he engages with foundational problems of psychology concerning the discipline's history, meta-theory, and methodology.
