AAP Advances in Nutraceuticals

Examines the growing use of flavonoids for prevention and treatment of diseases and discusses their beneficial mechanisms. It addresses their various uses, including as anti-ageing tools, as anti-inflammatory agents, for treating pregnancy-induced disorders, as a promising tool to combat infection of Covid-19, etc.

Flavonoids are well-known plant metabolites that have extraordinary properties that can be used for treating health issues. The pharmaceutical importance of flavonoids is due to their anti-depressant, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant capacities. They are also of great importance when it comes to neuroprotection, cardiovascular disorders, and many types of cancer. Flavonoids are also easily available and produce less harmful side effects than some conventional therapeutics.This new volume examines the growing use of flavonoids for prevention and treatment of diseases and discusses their beneficial mechanisms. Sie stellt ein großes Potential zur individuellen Lebensqualität dar, hilft das Grundrecht auf eine umfassende gesellschaftliche Teilhabe zu sichern und fördert die Chancengleichheit. Unter dieser mehrfachen Perspektive fasst der Band die wissenschaftlichen und praktischen Erkenntnisse zur Freizeit im Leben von Menschen mit Behinderung zusammen. An sozialintegrativen Praxisbeispielen wird dargestellt, wie Freizeit mit und ohne Assistenz für Menschen mit Behinderungen gelingen kann.

Damit wird der Vorgang der Katharsis medizinisch gedeutet und pathologisiert. Breuer und Freud folgen diesem Impuls, wenn sie ihre Hysterietherapie als ?kathartische Methode' bezeichnen; auch Nietzsche rekurriert auf Bernays und stellt die kathartische ?Entladung' in den Dienst des gesteigerten Lebens. Die Studie konzentriert sich auf die Neubestimmung und Entgrenzung des Begriffs, der nicht mehr nur in den klassischen Feldern der Poetik und Ethik, Religion und Politik diskutiert wird, sondern auch in der Medizin und Psychologie sowie in der Ästhetik und Kulturtheorie. Mit Bernays wird die Katharsis zu einem Schlüsselbegriff für die Konzeption immer neuer ?Languages of Emotion?.
