'Incisive and heart-rending' RICHARD E GRANT
Up until this point in my life, my definition of luck has followed a slightly different trajectory. I was always lucky with cards, with the weather, with love. I once was supremely lucky picking the Grand National winner. I was lucky in that I had a happy childhood, with parents who loved each other. I was still married and had succeeded in giving my children stability and security. And now, I am going to be lucky in that I'm getting an oncologist who will pump me full of chemotherapy and indirectly make me lose my hair. A different type of luck.
