A partir de la teoría de la imagología comparada, y combinando métodos multidisciplinares como la sociología y la antropología, se estudia la imagen del país asiático en Argentina a través de tres dimensiones: el espacio y el tiempo, las personajes y los símbolos culturales.
Revela así el proceso de construcción de imágenes utópicas e ideológicas de un país extranjero, así como los significados socioculturales subyacentes, mostrando cómo el "yo" se define a través de la imagen del "otro".
