Dieses Lehrbuch bildet in der universitären Lehre die Grundlage für ein Student-to-Student-Coaching-Angebot, bei dem Studierende der Psychologie und Psychotherapie neue Möglichkeiten erfahren, bereits im Studium eigenverantwortliche praktische Erfahrungen in der Arbeit mit Klient*innen zu sammeln, indem sie andere Studierende coachen: Durch die Verbesserung der Selbststeuerungsfähigkeit soll das Programm die Klient*innen darin unterstützen, ihr Studium erfolgreicher und zufriedener zu meistern. Das Buch basiert auf wissenschaftlich fundierten, verhaltenstherapeutischen Modellen zu Veränderungen von Verhalten und Kognitionen und beschreibt sowohl Basiskompetenzen in der psychologischen Gesprächsführung als Grundlage für professionelles Coaching, als auch speziell auf die Bedürfnisse von Studierenden zugeschnittene Interventionen. Als integriertes Ausbildungs- und Beratungskonzept ist das Programm vielfältig anwendbar: es lässt sich von Coaches und Berater*innen als Manual für das Coaching von Studierenden anwenden − oder für die Ausbildung von spezialisierten Student Coaches nutzen. Das Ergebnis ist ein umfassendes, leicht verständliches und flexibel einsetzbares und in der Praxis erprobtes Programm, dessen Wirksamkeit empirisch gezeigt werden konnte.Die Autor:innenDr. phil. Miriam Stein ist Psychologische Psychotherapeutin (VT), Supervisorin, Selbsterfahrungsleiterin und Dozentin. Promotion an der Universität Heidelberg zum Thema „Entwicklung, Implementierung und Evaluation eines Beratungsangebots im universitären Kontext: Coaching für Studierende von Studierenden“. Derzeit ist sie u.a. an der Hochschulambulanz des Psychologischen Instituts der Universität Heidelberg tätig und leitet das Projekt Coaching für Studierende von Studierenden. Weitere inhaltliche Schwerpunkte sind die Therapeutische Beziehungsgestaltung, E-Mental-Health und Angewandte Improvisation in der PsychotherapiePhilipp Steinebach ist Psychologe und approbierter Psychologischer Psychotherapeut. Er leitet die Psychotherapeutische Hochschulambulanz (für Erwachsene) der Uniklinik der RWTH Aachen.

This book looks at how psychoanalytic thinking can be applied in a variety of settings and can respect the individual experience and circumstances of each patient.It focuses on the analytic encounter and the hard task around trying to create what the author calls a human analytic setting, one which respects human diversity and theoretical pluralism, pays adequate attention to the patient's emotional pain and suffering, while hopefully facilitating psychic change.
