This book documents, via oral history, experiences of the emotions of parenthood during the Covid-19 pandemic, focusing on testimonies collected during a time of crisis and exploring how parents' feelings and reflections shifted and changed with the passage of time at an important and unique juncture in history. The broad aim of the book, divided into seven chapters, is to analyse the effects of the restrictions imposed on the British population as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic on the lives of parents with young children (of primary age and below), with a particular focus on the emotional impact of the time period. Key topics and themes discussed include parents' experiences of pregnancy and birth, education and childcare, work, leisure, and health during the pandemic.

In the years prior to this book being originally published in 1992, the study of industrial economics had been dominated by the USA. While there was a fund of theoretical and empirical knowledge relating to the US experience, this is not always relevant in the context of Europe. With its considerable national market the USA developed competition policies that differ from those in the smaller economies of European countries.This collection of essays looks at the market behaviour of an economy more open to international competition. The industrial organization of Sweden provides the ideal representation of smaller economies that can be applied to the other economies of western Europe.The contributors apply different analytical approaches to assess direct and indirect forms of market power. Some papers draw on econometric cross-sectional models exploring the scope of market power and the role of international competition. Others look at specific markets investigating the formation of market power - its costs to consumers and the role of lobbying groups and the political sphere: case studies include the domestic car, white goods, pharmaceutical goods, food, textile and air transport markets. It is part of the self-image of liberal democracies to critically examine their own historical actions. Document editions represent an important contribution to the preservation and exploration of our societies' historical heritage, to the documentary traceability and transparency of political processes, and - through further publications - to historical enlightenment and political education. The first series of Foreign Policy Documents of the Republic of Austria 1918-1938 (ADÖ-I), initiated in 1990 by Arnold Suppan with Klaus Koch and Walter Rauscher, was completed in 2016; the 12 volumes are now also available online. This first volume marks the beginning of the second series of Foreign Policy Documents of the Republic of Austria (ADÖ-II), which covers the period after the Second World War. The volume comprises 312 documents from the archives of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and the Austrian State Archives in a text-critical and scholarly edition, including an introduction and index. It documents the period from mid-April 1945 to the end of May 1947. The volume focuses on the re-establishment of the Republic after liberation from National Socialism, the restoration of relations with foreign countries, particularly with the four occupying and controlling powers, the safeguarding of food supplies and the territorial integrity of the country, the struggle for South Tyrol's self-determination, and the regaining of full state sovereignty through a treaty. The volume concludes with the transitional phase between the failure of the Moscow Foreign Ministers' Conference on April 24, 1947, and the announcement of the US aid program for Europe, the Marshall Plan, on June 5.
