The Inseparable Issues

This edited volume focuses on the threats and regulations related to the European digital environment while taking into account their influence on the spread of disinformation narratives.

European digital environment forces various threats, both security- and (dis)information-related, that need to be confronted. Due to the fluctuating pace of evolution of Europe- and EU-wide and national regulation of the digital sphere, as well as the different opinions and approaches in the region, the description of the current state and explanation of its consequences is crucial. The authors of the book refers to these phenomena from European and national perspectives and provides suggestions that may possibly lead to the elimination or even solution of the specific cases.

The book is divided into four sections: Mapping the threats and trust in disinformation in the European digital environment, Approaches to threats and combatting disinformation in the European digital environment: Examples of good practices, regulations in the European digital environment in relation to disinformation, and Current challenges of the European digital environment in relation to disinformation.
