Contenu

The Handbook of Non-Invasive Transcranial Brain Stimulation in the Cognitive Domain: Methods, Psychophysiology, Neuroenhancement and Therapeutic Applications presents the most recent technological breakthroughs and scientific information on non-invasive transcranial brain stimulation. This book reviews published data and opens perspectives related to the use of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, primarily the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation and low-intensity transcranial electrical stimulation in the cognitive domain. This book presents the methods and the data obtained in experimental models of cognitive disturbances and plasticity-related processes, providing the results of the application of these methods to better understand psychophysiology and cognitive performance in healthy subjects. This multimodal brain stimulation approach allows to investigate the neural network dynamics underlying human cognition in healthy volunteers and to translate these findings into clinical applications for treating various neurological and neuropsychiatric brain disorders.
