Taking the perspective of theology and law, the contributors to this volume discuss the significance of church membership and religious affiliation for religious organisations and also deal with the question of what the social welfare services can do in view of the lack of professionals for profiling. In doing so, they examine the legal options provided by the secular state in Germany.
