A Technical Guide to Current Practices
Publié par:Nguyen, Trung

Contenu

"This book directs the reader to areas within IHC that are important to know with ideas that are proven to work in real world settings. Special emphasis is made to lean and efficient principles. Both the theoretical and the practical are covered, written by authors who are current practising medical scientists in diagnostic histology laboratories. These contributors have made all the mistakes, worked at the coalface of IHC and have successfully troubleshooted their way out of many predicaments over the years. They are experts in this field of medical science and are willing to share their collective experiences with the readership. Throughout the book, common themes emerge. Validation is the method of selecting suitable antibody clones, and the foundation to successful IHC is adherence to the principles of pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic standardisation. A major emphasis is placed on why IHC assays fail. Protocols can be quite technical or become unnecessarily complicated, and there are numerous traps to avoid for the inexperienced investigator. In gaining a deeper understanding of the technology, it is hoped that the laboratory worker can consistently achieve a clean, crisp and optimised IHC stain"--
