Behavioral Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence for Neurodegenerative Diseases Assessment

Behavioral Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence for ...

Contenu

Neurodegenerative disorders encompass a wide range of conditions resulting from progressive damage to cells and nervous system connections, most common are Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Millions are diagnosed each year using various forms of neuroimaging techniques, however, with new innovations there are new forms of assessments.

Behavioral Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence for Neurodegenerative Diseases Assessment reviews new innovated non-invasive behavioral biometrics and artificial intelligence techniques for early neurodegenerative disease assessment. Unlike standard biometrics, behavioral biometrics is interested in non-directly measurable physical properties. It seeks patterns that are recognized only when the subject performs a particular behavior. This book reviews several AI techniques including machine learning and deep neural networks for computer vision to help observe gait, handwriting, and speech. Chapters on wearable sensors, smartphones and tablet use for neurodegenerative disease assessments are also included.
