Striking Kabuki characters brought to life in images from the Ashmolean Museum's collections. A new fine art calendar from Flame Tree.
The Ashmolean began when the wealthy antiquary Elias Ashmole (1617–92) gifted his collection to the University of Oxford in 1682. Today, the Ashmolean Museum of Art and Archaeology houses Western Art, Eastern Art, Antiquities, Cast Gallery and the Coin Room. The Japanese Kabuki character portraits in this wall calendar are taken from the collections and are all by the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kunisada. Informative text accompanies each work and the datepad features previous and next month’s views. Printed on FSC-certified paper, with plastic-free packaging.
