Für das Bank Austria Kunstforum in Wien kuratierte der renommierte Ausstellungsmacher Robert Fleck die bisher größte Einzelausstellung Yalcindags, in deren Zentrum drei neue, noch nie institutionell gezeigte Werkserien standen. Diese Publikation stellt sie erstmals vor: Monochrome Tondi, Infinity Paintings, in denen sich subtile, bisweilen magische Farbbildräume öffnen, sowie die großformatige Serie Natures. Eigens für die Ausstellung geschaffen, enthalten diese Bilder die für Yalcindag typische Struktur kleiner stilisierter Blüten ebenso wie überdimensionale florale Motive und Holzstrukturen, die der Künstler mittels Sieb- und Holzdruck auf die Leinwand aufbringt.Ekrem Yalcindag (*1964 in Gölbasi, Türkei) studierte ab 1985 Kunst an der Dokuz EylülUniversität in Izmir. 1994 zog er nach Deutschland, wo er an der Städelschule bei Thomas Bayrle und Hermann Nitsch seine Studien fortsetzte und schließlich Meisterschüler wurde. Yalcindags Werke wurden weltweit in zahlreichen Ausstellungen gezeigt und befinden sich in bedeutenden Sammlungen wie dem Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, dem Istanbul Modern, dem Zürcher Museum Haus Konstruktiv, der Sammlung Goetz in München u.a. Er lebt und arbeitet in Istanbul und Frankfurt/M.
