It explains the difficulties of computation, addressing problems that have no algorithm at all and problems that cannot be solved efficiently. The text assumes no prior knowledge of automata, advanced algorithmic analysis, and formal languages. Die Kognitive Kybernetik (Cognitive Cybernetics) als neue Wissenschaftsdisziplin ist die logische und praktische Konsequenz der zunehmenden Technologisierung der Wissenschaften und der Lebenswelten. Als solche greift die Technologie in der Ausprägung einer multiplikativen Verknüpfung von Methoden und Techniken überall dort, wo „Intelligenz“ heute unter Umständen nicht mehr ausreicht.Kognitive Kybernetik ist damit auch eine Erkenntnistheorie zum Begreifen (=Verstehen, Erklären, Realisieren) von kognitiven Systemen. Letzteres gilt als Voraussetzung zur Entwicklung und dem nachhaltigen Einsatz von Techniken zur Beherrschung technologisierter, komplexer, soziotechnologischer Systeme. Das neue Paradigma eines solchen kognitiv-soziotechnologischen Systems ist die Orchestrierung autonomer Cognitive Computing Systeme, die in ständiger Interoperation mit anderen Systemen lernen, sich entwickeln und so auf sich selbst bzw. andere Systeme der Umwelt ein- und auswirken. Der Autor Prof. Dr. Matthias Haun ist für die Entwicklung und weltweite Einführung „Kognitiver Lösungen“ verantwortlich. Ziel ist es, durch die Entwicklung solcher intelligenten, lernenden und vorausschauenden Systeme die Digitalisierung und Kognitivierung von Lebenswelten verantwortungsbewusst voranzutreiben, um damit auch deren Einsatz im Sinne der Nachhaltigkeit gewährleisten zu können. Herr Haun leitet zudem zwei interdisziplinäre Forschungsprogramme, in deren Rahmen unter anderem zukünftige Paradigmen, Methoden und Techniken des Cognitive Computing entwickelt werden. Er hat weltweit mehrere Professuren inne, unter anderem seit Januar 2018 eine Shared Professorship für Kognitive Kybernetik und Philosophie der Kognitionswissenschaften. Neben den Forschungen im Bereich der technologisierten Kognitionswissenschaften widmet sich der Informatiker und Philosoph auch um die Transformation dieser Technologien in die Lebenspraxis und positioniert sich kritisch zuden gesellschaftlichen Implikationen. Er bringt 30 Jahre Erfahrung in der Entwicklung intelligenter Lösungssysteme im Finanzdienstleistungssektor, in der Forschung und Industrie mit.

However, many experimental directions are under investigation and hardly any book describing them is available on the market. Quantum cryptography, for example, has already evolved to marketable devices. Most of the books on quantum information and/or quantum computing address the important aspect of optical implementation only briefly.
